Art enthusiasts explored 16 downtown galleries showcasing local and nationally acclaimed artists during the 4th Friday Art Walk Jan. 24. The next two Friday walks are scheduled for Feb. 28 and March 28.
These galleries extend their hours each month and offer unique exhibits, artist receptions and signature events.
Prescott, surrounded by cool mountainous forests, has long inspired its resident artists. The Art Walk provides an opportunity to meet these artists, gain insight into their creative processes and immerse in the community. Historic buildings serve as a striking backdrop, preserving Prescott’s rich heritage.
Since its founding in 2004, the 4th Friday Art Walk has been a celebrated evening for Prescott’s visual arts community. Participating galleries host evening events beginning at 5 p.m. each month. Visitors can pick up gallery guides at participating locations, hotel brochure racks, and the Prescott Chamber of Commerce.
The two featured galleries for the January Art Walk were Gallery Beyond Words, 204 N. McCormick St., and Van Gogh’s Ear, 156 S. Montezuma St.
