A Nutcracker Christmas Celebration

The Arizona Philharmonic, Margot Fonteyn Academy of Ballet, Voci Sorella of Yavapai Youth Choirs and Una Voce Women’s Choir together presented The Nutcracker ballet Dec. 17-18, 2022, at Yavapai College Performing Arts Center. AZ Phil was led by guest conductor Alexander Walker, who has conducted for the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and Russian State Symphony along with many others. International alumni of the academy from as far away as Tokyo performed both acts of Tchaikovsky’s iconic holiday extravaganza and to Frederick Ashton’s Les Patineurs, a winter ballet set to the music of Giacomo Meyerbeer. The two public performances and a private show Dec. 16 for Greater Prescott elementary and high school students were presented by the James Family Trust.
