A Peek at February’s 4th Friday Art Walk

On Feb. 28, Prescott’s 4th Friday Art Walk once again welcomed art enthusiasts to explore 16 downtown galleries showcasing local and nationally acclaimed artists. These galleries extended their monthly hours and offered exhibits, artist receptions and signature events.

The next Art Walk is March 28.

Since its founding in 2004, the 4th Friday Art Walk has been a celebrated evening for Prescott’s visual arts community. Participating galleries host evening events beginning at 5 p.m. each month. Visitors can pick up gallery guides at participating locations, hotel brochure racks and the Prescott Chamber of Commerce.

The two featured galleries for February’s Art Walk were ‘Tis Art Center & Gallery and the Natural History Institute Gallery.

‘Tis Art Center and Gallery, at 105 S. Cortez St., featured the work of Jenny T. Arts. A lifelong maker and appreciator of art, Jenny pursued her passion academically by obtaining a degree in art education.

This foundation allowed her to explore various artistic avenues while nurturing her creativity. Throughout her career, she has balanced motherhood with her creative pursuits, establishing herself as an artist, jewelry maker and art teacher.

At the Natural History Institute Gallery, at 126 N. Marina St., visitors enjoyed an exhibition of paintings and drawings by Arizona artists Donna Larson and Sheila Kollasch that explored the natural history elements and literature of our Southwest region over many years.

For more information, events and a Google map of gallery locations, visit www.ArtThe4th.com.
