Visit the Fort Whipple Museum
The Fort Whipple Museum has reopened after being closed since the fall of 2019. The museum will be open every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday in July. It is located on the grounds of the Bob Stump Veterans Affairs Medical Center off of Highway 89. Fort Whipple served as a primary tactical base for the U.S. Army during the Indian Wars of 1864 to 1886. The Museum’s exhibits provide a time-capsule look at Fort Whipple, spanning 150-plus years. It is maintained and operated by the Sharlot Hall Museum.
