Endeavor Theatre Co. & The Nines Creative brought a revolutionary, immersive staging of Shakespeare’s Hamlet to the Art Hive in downtown Prescott May 3, 5, 10 and 11, during which audiences were led through the narrative as it played out across the entire floorplan of the building at 203 N. Cortez St.
Multimedia technology and immersive techniques let theatergoers become entangled — as complicit bystanders alongside the characters — in the mind of the young prince as he plays out his method of truth-seeking and, ultimately, tragic revenge.
Hamlet delved into the truths beneath the myriad masks we hold up to the world, and the constructs we call “mind.”
Audiences were limited to 25 people and attendees who arrived early were given the option of donning their own mask for the performance.
