Cooler weather, the yellow and orange hues of autumn leaves, and the notes of pumpkin spice in the air signal that it’s the perfect time to grab some popcorn and bundle up for a spooky movie.
In addition to the vast number of DVDs available at the library, your Prescott Public Library card also gives you access to Kanopy, where you can stream movies and TV shows on demand. If autumn has you looking for a good horror classic, Kanopy has movies like Night of the Living Dead, Nosferatu and House on Haunted Hill.
Perhaps campy horror flicks are more your style. You could try The Babadook, Creepshow or Willy’s Wonderland.
Or if you prefer more modern-style horror flicks, The Ring, The Woman in Black and Audition are some great choices, all available on Kanopy.
To see a full list of horror titles you can stream through Kanopy, sign in to your Kanopy account, select “Browse” from the top left of the screen, then choose “Horror” from the genre menu. Movies on Kanopy have no holds and are available to stream 24/7.
If you are looking for even more tingles down your spine this October, our librarians are happy to help you find frightening horror books and movies, creepy urban legends and chilling ghost stories.
You can even come to the library on Sunday, Oct. 15 at 2:00 PM. to hear about the ghostly happenings in our local community at the Haunted Prescott event!
