A total of 190 homes sold in the City of Prescott during September (up from 188 in August), according to the Multiple Listing Service Report from the Prescott Area Association of REALTORS® (PAAR).
The median sales price dropped approximately 9% from the previous month but remained significantly higher than this same month last year with a price of $550,500. Days on market also remained significantly lower than this time last year, with homes spending 14 days on market compared to 2020s 35 days.
While the total number of homes hitting the market saw a decrease from August (45 fewer homes), there were still more new listings available in September (188) compared to the same month in 2020.
In Prescott Valley, 111 homes sold in September, which is three more homes than the previous month. Meanwhile, the number of homes actively available on the market saw a slight dip from last month at 138 listings (compared to 162 in August). However, the number of active listings increased 3% compared to 2020. Homes stayed on the market for a median of seven days in September, and 128 new listings became available. The median sales price of a home in Prescott Valley was $420,000.
Chino Valley reported 47 homes sold in September, which is the same as 2020. Homes spent a median of 18 days on the market (compared to 21 days in 2020) with a median sales price of $423,355, the highest it has been all year.
Sales in the Dewey-Humboldt area increased when compared to the previous month — 34 sales (compared to 28 in August and 31 in September 2020). Homes in the area spent a median of 22 days on the market while 46 new listings became available and 76 listings were active. The median sales price of a home in September was $365,000.
