More than 30 women performers active throughout Prescott and the rest of Arizona’s music scene converged at the Elks Theatre Feb. 23, 2024 to pay tribute to iconic pop and rock artists ranging from Stevie Nicks and Cyndi Lauper to Aretha Franklin and Dolly Parton. The singers and musicians (including a handful of men) mixed and matched themselves as they recreated their heroines’ finest moments at the sold-out show.
The idea grew out of Merri McKee’s open-mic Women Music Monday showcases at Back Alley Wine Bar, and she produced and sang at the concert. Other performers included Mary Alberts, Christy Fisher, Robin Noble, Stefani Savage, the Womansong choir and many more.
