Pin-up pageants have been springing up around the country to give entrants a chance to dress up in vintage-styled outfits and makeup inspired by the 1940s and ‘50s and compete in pageants with styling, interview questions and other categories.
Prescott’s first-ever such pageant was held April 11 at the Grand Highland Hotel, with 20 contestants parading their retro looks for the audience. Monique McConnell took the event’s top crown.
There also were raffles, prizes, a silent auction and more activities to bring the community together and raise funds for the Yavapai Family Advocacy Center. The event was hosted by Sarah Seisinger with Vintage Photo Co., Photo Booth Trailer.
