Prescott Valley’s Northern Arizona Wranglers won a thrilling Western Conference Final showdown against the Arizona Rattlers on July 31, advancing to the Indoor Football League’s (IFL) championship game. The 52-51 victory came out of a hard-fought game against the Phoenix team on its home turf at Footprint Center, which was tied at 14 each 15 minutes into the game and left the Wranglers at a 38-24 deficit at the half. Chopping the Rattlers’ lead to 7 by the end of the third quarter, the Wranglers exploded in the final lap with two touchdowns, an extra point and an incredible end-zone interception by Trae Meadows. The Wranglers went on to win the IFL championship Aug. 13 in Las Vegas against the Quad City Steamrollers 47-45 in another hard-fought game, bringing the trophy home to the Findlay Toyota Center.
