Saddle Up for Flavor: Dry Gulch Steakhouse Delivers True Midwest Comfort

Submitted by Lucinda Johnson, Owner, Dry Gulch Steakhouse

Dry Gulch Steakhouse is straight out the Midwest catering to the little bit of cowboy in each of us by serving up certified Angus beef, baby back ribs, craft soups, salads and seafood.

The cow puncher theme of the restaurant gives your eyes plenty to look at, and the live music four nights a week brings a family-friendly vibe to the guests and employees.

Prescott has had this hidden gem for more than 30 years tucked in among houses, and off the main drag, with a quiet little patio in the back for those beautiful summer evenings and fall days.

You want classic sides like baked potatoes completely stuffed with all the toppings, cowboy beans or garlic fries. You can’t go wrong. Specials will often include 22-hour smoked brisket and the Cowboy Tears jalapeños stuffed with the aforementioned brisket, jack cheese and barbecue sauce, wrapped in bacon and fried.

Don’t miss out on our famous margaritas. Just you try and pry the recipe out of the owner — not even the staff knows it. You can buy them by the gallon, as well, to take home for those family parties and holidays.

The staff is very fun and people-friendly, often dressing up for special occasions as in every Saturday in October to celebrate Halloween.

Don’t miss out on dessert and try the largest piece of mudpie west of the Mississippi! Comes in three flavors: mocha, mint chip and rocky road.
