Some Like it Hot Spot

Monday, Sep. 29, 2025

Submitted by Prescott Public Library

The Prescott Public Library is happy to announce the addition of 80 new Wi-Fi hot spots, due to the generous support of the Friends of the Prescott Public Library. These hot spots are added to the collection of 40 hot spots already in circulation.

They are perfect for you to check out and use at your residence, while enjoying an afternoon at one of our local lakes or anywhere you want or need Wi-Fi service. Many patrons use the hot spots to work from home, but also to stream video from our own service, Kanopy, as well as accessing other entertainment, information and more.

We have other digital offerings at the Prescott Public Library meant to support what you may need.

If you need to use a computer to access the internet, we have 19 desktop computers with large monitors — six of which have large print, backlit keyboards. We have a station for scanning documents that you can email or save, and we use a mobile printing system called Princh to assist patrons with printing documents from your phone.

Additionally, we offer free Wi-Fi in the library, and welcome patrons to bring their devices to a quiet, comfortable space to work on those devices.

The Prescott Public Library also has started offering tech support by appointment. The first and third Tuesdays of every month at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m.,
and the second and fourth Thursdays of every month at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m., we invite patrons to make an appointment with a librarian who can help assist with technology questions. We ask that when you make your appointment, you are specific about what kind of help you need and on which device. If you need help connecting your Wi-Fi hot spot to your device, this is a perfect opportunity for one-on-one help.

For more information about hot spots, Kanopy or other technology resources at the library, visit or call the Ask a Librarian Desk at 928.777.1526.
