The Prescott Antique Auto Club (PAAC) will present the 50th annual Watson Lake Car Show, Old Engine Fire-Up, Swap Meet and Car Coral Aug. 2 and Aug. 3.
PAAC, a cornerstone of the City of Prescott since its establishment in 1970, has been deeply involved in various community initiatives. The restoration of the 1931 Seagrave Prescott Fire Department’s first ladder truck and the Durant 1927 Star Four Touring Car. The proudly displayed Durant in the Sharlot Hall Museum’s transportation building is a testament to our commitment.
Our members also have contributed to beautifying the city’s landscape by planting trees and captivating old engine fire-up displays at Sharlot Hall. The ladder truck and Durant were showcased in downtown Prescott’s 2024 Frontier Days Parade.
PAAC endeavors to give to the community. We award annual scholarships to students currently pursuing automotive-related degrees. Additionally, we fund an endowment to ensure future scholarships in perpetuity.
In support of PAAC, the Yavapai College Art Department has agreed to conduct an Art Contest to select the poster and advertisements for this year’s 50th anniversary Watson Lake Car Show.
PAAC supports our military veterans by visiting veteran care facilities and bringing classic cars to display for their enjoyment. Members also visit the Veterans Hospital in Prescott every Christmas and gives presents to the veteran patients there. PAAC supports the Nation’s Finest Food Bank in Prescott by providing dry food donations throughout the year.
We support Make-A-Wish Foundation and endeavor to make a wish come true in our way through classic car shows, rides in local parades, etc.
PAAC is committed to fostering a sense of community through inclusivity. Every year, we host three Parts Exchange/Swap Meet events at our clubhouse at 823 Osburn St. in Prescott. These events are open to all, and community members are encouraged to bring items to sell, trade or share. Setting up a table or booth and parking is free.
Between April and October, PAAC hosts a Cruise-In at the BMO Bank parking lot on the third Thursday of the month at 303 N. Montezuma St. Community members can bring their cars for display, enjoy other vehicles and patronize nearby shops for food, frozen yogurt and much more.
