Beautiful Feet Ballet is delighted to present its second annual winter ballet performance with The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, a beloved story of courage, sacrifice and redemption brought to life through the beauty of classical ballet.
Performances at the Ruth Street Theater, 1050 Ruth St., Prescott, will be 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Dec. 13 and Dec. 14.
This timeless tale, written by C.S. Lewis and first published in 1950, tells the story of Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy Pevensie, four siblings who discover the magical land of Narnia through an enchanted wardrobe. Guided by Aslan, the great lion, they embark on a journey of faith and bravery to overcome the White Witch and bring spring — and hope — back to Narnia.
Beautiful Feet Ballet’s adaptation captures the wonder of Lewis’s world through expressive movement, elegant choreography and heartfelt storytelling. The performance weaves together themes of good and evil, sacrifice and salvation, and the triumph of light over darkness — making it a perfect celebration for the Christmas season.
Founded by Jennah Fair, Beautiful Feet Ballet began as a simple dream, a homeschool mother’s wish to offer her daughter a faith-based classical ballet education. What started with two small classes has blossomed into a thriving community of over 100 dancers who share friendship, artistry and a mission: to point hearts toward Jesus through the gift of dance.
Classes are held at the Elks Performing Arts Center, and the school continues to grow as a beacon of light and beauty in the Prescott arts community.
“This production is a labor of love and faith,” Fair, who directs the performances, says. “The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe beautifully reflects the message of hope and redemption that
we celebrate during Christmas, and we are honored to share it once again with our community.”
