Check Out Our Library of Things
A Library of Things is a collection of items that expand the boundaries of traditionally defined library materials. The collection supports lifelong learning and access to technology to increase the quality of life for our community. Our Library of Things also promotes sustainability by encouraging sharing and giving you the ability to try before you buy.
Our collection includes the following:
WI-FI HOTSPOTS
Wi-Fi hotspots provide 24/7 access to the internet with unlimited data on a fast, secure network. Use on the go or wherever you are!
CHROMEBOOKS
Chromebooks are easy-to-use, lightweight small laptops that run the Chrome operating system. Use Google docs to create a resume; watch movies using Kanopy, the library’s free video streaming service; connect with family and friends with social media; catch up on the news, or just browse the Internet.
IPAD MINIS
Browse the internet, use library apps, and more with an iPad Mini. Small and convenient to take on the go! Use the library’s free Libby app to download ebooks and audiobooks onto the device for your next getaway!
HIKING KITS
Hiking kits include backpacks filled with trail maps, binoculars, hiking poles, a first-aid kit, and more. Available for kids and adults.
SEED LIBRARY
The Seed Library offers vegetable, fruit, herb, and flower seeds suitable for our local growing conditions and seasons. This program is designed for beginning growers, but gardeners of every level are invited to check out seeds. The Seed Library is a partnership between Prescott Public Library, Prescott Farmers Market, and Janet Wilson with Prescott Gardener. Partial funding for the Seed Library is provided by the Friends of Prescott Public Library.
All items in the Library of Things are available for checkout to adults 18 years and older with a Yavapai Library Network card. Checkouts and returns for all Library of Things items are at the Ask a Librarian Desk on the 2nd floor of the library. For more information, visit the Ask a Librarian Desk or call 928-777-1526.
