The Prescott Public Library wants to make sure that kids not only start reading at an early age, but that they learn the joys of book ownership, too!
Thanks to a partnership with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, (a non-profit organization,) local Rotary Clubs, and the Friends of the Prescott Public Library, Prescott-area children will receive a free book in the mail every month from birth until the child’s fifth birthday!
Books are chosen by a specially selected panel of early childhood literacy experts that review hundreds of potential titles. The books are selected based on the different needs of children as they progress from birth to age 5. For example, for children under the age of one, they will receive board books that are bright, big and colorful. They may include rhymes and rhythm, playful sounds.
Once received, the books are the childs’ to keep forever.
